Exquisite home builds need an exceptional team
Meet Wellington’s trusted home builders with a passion for quality
We’ve been consistently winning awards for the past two decades, for our new home construction projects and home renovation projects. Every award-winning residential building company relies on an outstanding team of professionals – from carpenters and foremen, to architects and interior designers, and electricians and plumbers. Our local reputation ensures that the best professionals choose to work with us, time and again.
We’ve been delivering high quality building projects throughout the Wellington and South Wairarapa region since 2002. Key to our success has been our ability to collaborate with our clients to realise their project visions. It’s also helped us to build enduring relationships with some of Wellington’s best known architects and designers to bring their client briefs to their full potential.

Bringing your vision to life
Key to our award-winning building projects is trust and regular, clear communication. Our clients typically engage with us early on in their new build or home renovation project so that we can advise on initial designs, budgets and timelines and support your project to completion with no surprises.
Our team supports you with end-to-end project management, from initial concepts, to finalising the design, selecting materials and finishes, right through to the final completed build. Our clients refer us because of the stress-free, exceptional experience we can provide for residential building projects.
Our expertise ranges from high-end kitchen renovations, to $2m+ residential new builds, and commercial fitouts including breweries and dental surgeries. Our highly capable team ensures our exacting standards are delivered, no matter the project.
Meet Scott Feasey
Scott’s journey started with a traditional wooden boat-building apprenticeship, where he developed a strong sense of craftsmanship that still shines through in every project today. With more than 35 years of building experience, he’s seen it all, making him an integral advisor on all our residential building projects.
Over the years, Scott has given a lot back to the industry – serving on the Master Builders executive team and mentoring countless apprentices along the way. He’s built in London, Auckland, and Wellington, and no matter where he’s worked, his focus has always been the same: delivering top-quality residential, commercial, and interior fit-out projects.
Scott is always thinking ahead too. He’s passionate about innovation and sustainability, regularly attending industry conferences to explore new ideas, materials and methods. But what really drives him is connecting with clients and architects, working together to find smart, effective solutions to make each dream build a reality.

Meet the rest of the team

Tim Drummond
Construction Manager
In Wellington , Tim is the guy who keeps projects (and people) on track. Whether it’s mentoring foremen, explaining cost codes in plain English, or reminding the team that breaks are for health and safety (not extra smoko pies), Tim keeps things moving forward. He has a knack for solving problems on site with a mix of innovative solutions, practical know-how and “we’ll make it work” attitude.
When he’s not on the tools or his trusty laptop, you’ll find Tim wrangling animals on his Upper Hutt lifestyle block, skiing in Ohakune, or inventing some new backyard project that may or may not involve scaffolding. He’s also been known to build cedar hot tubs from scratch… just don’t ask him to sit still in one, because he’ll be thinking about the next project before the water’s even warm.

Brad Taylor
Construction Manager
Known for his practical building expertise, attention to detail, and ability to lead teams effectively, Brad brings both technical skill and reliability to every job, always striving to ensure client satisfaction throughout each stage of the project.
Outside of work, Brad enjoys surfing and hunting, and is a proud dad of two, balancing his professional commitments with family life and time outdoors.

Jacob Slattery
Foreman
Jacob has over a decade of residential carpentry experience. Moving to Scotty’s Construction from Auckland in 2022, he quickly graduated to a Foreman role that has brought out his great leadership qualities, passion and enthusiasm for complex residential builds. One thing he loves about working with Scott and the team is the satisfaction he finds in the fine workmanship of every project.
Jacob splits his time between raising a family, renovating his own home, and getting out for a weekend round of golf.

Dion Fraie
Foreman
Dion started out his working life as a graphic designer and photo lithographer. As the industry became more digital, he realised he preferred being more hands-on than digital. He brought his creative skills into carpentry and hasn’t looked back. He joined the Scotty’s Construction team in 2021 and has since worked across a variety of high-end architectural renovation projects. Along the way, he’s become a great mentor to apprentices and young carpenters, always happy to share his design knowledge and carpentry experience.
At home, Dion looks after a lively menagerie of animals – cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and all kinds of birds – alongside his kids. And when he’s not building, caring for his family and his animals, you’ll usually find him playing music, a passion he’s kept alive through playing in bands for most of his life.

Matt Fraser
Foreman
Matt’s clocked up an impressive 20 years experience in the building trade, working in New Zealand as a BCITO Qualified Carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP). Matt is also a certified Velux Skylight Installer.
Matt specialises in high-spec, technical home renovation projects but also oversees new builds for Scotty’s Construction. Matt has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail which clients love.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys travelling and photography. He’s also a keen attendee of martial arts classes, and volunteers at the SPCA. Fun fact? Matt recently eloped with his partner for a secret wedding in Italy!

Jeff Henderson
Foreman, Wairarapa
Jeff completed his apprenticeship in the early 1980s. Since then, he’s built a strong foundation of over 40 years’ experience, working primarily in residential construction.
Jeff is known for his attention to detail, high standards of workmanship, and down-to-earth, approachable manner that helps create strong client relationships.
Outside of work, he enjoys most sports (especially Formula 1), travelling, and spending time with his energetic four-year-old grandson.

Valentin Renard
Foreman
With over 15 years experience in the industry, Valentin has specialised in renovation projects with a strong focus on quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Known for his adaptability and problem-solving abilities onsite, he brings a practical, hands-on approach to every job.
With a passion for woodworking that extends beyond work hours, Valentin also enjoys shaping surfboards and spending time outside surfing, freediving, or cycling.

Donna Drinkwater
Business Services Manager
Donna has been behind the scenes at Scotty’s for the past few years, keeping everything running smoothly. With a background as an Account Director in the advertising world, she knows what it takes to bring great ideas to life, whether it’s a creative campaign or a new home.
At Scotty’s, Donna wears many hats, from HR and accounts to marketing, combining creativity with sharp organisation. Outside of work, she’s passionate about fitness and loves spending time with the company mascot, Tommy.
Awards we've won
Our accolades speak for themselves. Our reputation is built on our clients and partners trusting us to execute their vision to the highest of standards.
The Registered Master Builders Association’s House of the Year Awards showcase the best of New Zealand house design and build innovation. We are immensely proud of the success of our team over the years.
Our Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards
You can trust our team
Winning awards is great, but you also want to know that your new build or home renovation is going to stand the test of time.
Master Builders assurance

Working with a registered Master Builder means you’ll have peace of mind if something goes wrong on your project. The Master Build 10-Year Guarantee means that if your builder is unable or unwilling to complete your residential new build or renovation, you can claim up to $1 million, or the value of the building contract, whichever is less. Building guarantees are increasingly requested by mortgage lenders, and homeowners.
Homeowners can claim for loss of deposit, non-completion of a building project, materials and workmanship, structural defects and even provide funding for temporary accommodation.
Building Site Health and Safety
Our team doesn’t cut corners to cut costs. You can rest assured that your project is held to the highest health and safety standards, to keep our team, your property and site visitors safe at all times. Members of our team are extremely well qualified in this space, which ensures that we have rigorous health and safety procedures, above and beyond typical residential construction projects.
Our Construction Managers meet regularly with all foremen, on site, to discuss and look for risks and improvements in site health and safety. We have a clean safety record, with no prosecutions or health safety complaints made against us.
We use Buildertrend to record onsite inductions, toolbox meetings and task analysis. Our Health and Safety Policy is available on request.
Our company values
